A quick lunch salad

One of my favorite summer salads to prepare for a quiet midday cruise.

Mustard glazed chicken salad with pine nuts and goats' cheese

Simply mix these things together, in this order:

2 handfuls of rocket salad and two of baby lettuce or Lollo Rossa or whatever you might find.
6-8 smaller plum tomatoes. Cut in halves or quarters
1-2 smaller spring onions, cut in thin slices
2-3 boneless chicken breasts, sliced into stripes. Pan fry with a bit of soya, salt and pepper.
2 tablespoons of feta cheese crumbles

Mix together these ingredients to a smooth sauce and drizzle it over the salad:

2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 teaspoon mayonnaise
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
salt, pepper

Sprinkle toasted pine nuts on top. Serve while the chicken is still warm.

III PUIG BARCELONA VELA CLÀSSICA 2010

Swedish breakfast on the sea

Today we're cruising out with our Caos to get a last glimpse of The 3rd PUIG BARCELONA VELA CLÀSSICA Regatta for Vintage and Classic boats, which is in it's final day today. The race takes place just outside of our marina, in between Port Vell and Port Olympic. Also looking forward to the price giving ceremony and the yearly cocktail reception they're hosting tonight, on the final night of the races.

Shoes

We're glad and thankful that Sperry Top-Sider wanted to sponsor our circumnavigation with a bunch of their wonderful sailing shoes. The ones we have tried so far gives us perfect stability and a good grip on deck. And the performance shoes are exactly the way we need them: Comfortable, light, quick drying, well balanced on the foot and with a great design.

Wonderland on water

Back home safely after five days of cruising around in the Northern parts of Mallorca. We were blessed with perfect sailing conditions on our way back home and the 18,5 hours crossing between Formentor and Barcelona went smooth and easy. We had mostly 12-15 knots of wind on the beam or sailed close hauled with almost flat water all the way through. Blue sky on the day, marvelously colorful sunset and a black sky filled with an ocean of stars in the night. Those are the days you get reminded that sailing truly is the supreme way of traveling and living. An ultimate lifestyle for which it would be hard to find a fair competitor. /T

In Colonia St Pere/Alcudia

We have been extremely busy enjoying the serene beauty of some of Mediterranean's most spectacular surroundings both under and above water and we'll be back with you all soon. Our halyard winch is broken and as soon as we get it refitted we'll leave back home to Barcelona.

Be safe until next time!

Menorca

Good news! Menorca and Formentor is on for tomorrow. We're hoping to get a good change to try out our new scuba diving gear and underwater camera in the beautiful waters they offer over there. See you when we arrive.

Weekend trip

Our friends have now all returned to their homes around the globe and we're back to the normal and some final work before leaving for vacation. That doesn't stop us from spending the weekends on the sea. Or to be frankly honest, we're pretty good at finding excuses, and have already cut down work to around 50%.

Gone sailing

Shared joy is a double joy

It's been some good days that passed the last two weeks and very much easier than we expected. Everyone adapted impressively fast to the spartan and tight boat life and it's a bit sad it all went so fast. Two more people in tonight for one more Swedish influenced week on the sea and soon thereafter we'll set off for our four weeks vacation towards Corsica and Italy in mid July. Intense boat life but wonderful to be able to share it with people we love.

Fashion week on the boat

Caos is the most fashionable boat this week. Two of my best friends have arrived and filled the boat inside out with their weekend gears. Let's not ask Alex what is his opinion about this :0 /T

Preparing for visitors

Alex's pasta carbonara on s/v Caos last night.

We are in the middle of a full house cleaning here. New visitors will be bumping in and out on this boat until mid July with start from tomorrow. Will be very interesting to see how all of our dear friends (who never stayed on Caos before) will enjoy living on a boat with limited space. Especially when we will be five, full grown people sleeping here at the same time some of the nights! Wonderful weeks ahead and Alex brother Nico will be the first one in tomorrow. /Taru

Our lovely readers

We love our readers, we love when you comment here on the blog and when you take the time to write about our planned voyage in your own sites, your notes make our day! Here's one of our new readers that we found through the statistics. Thanks Molly!

In the end of the day, we wouldn't have started this blog if we wouldn't wanted to share this experience with you all. What is also wonderful is that our readers seem to be of all categories. From the experienced sailors, to the family-guys and globetrotters to the business owners, the fashion girls, cultural ladies, nature lovers and whoever!

If we can give a small dose of inspiration to our readers, then we have achieved what we wanted. Thanks all for reading and thanks all of you who spread the word about this voyage. We look forward to have you all with us when we leave Spain in 138 days (or earlier)!
