vacation

Alex's sister is visiting this week. We're switching island for St Barts tomorrow followed by St Martin later this weekend in an attempt to squeeze in the best and maximum of the Caribbean in eight quick days.

P.S: I mixed up Euro and USD in the previous post, should be corrected now.

need some creative help with your blog or website?

Sometimes I help friends and people with their website's or blog's design, sometimes its only a logo that is needed, other times a newsletter for their business or a full template for their blog or website. Lately I've got quite some inquiries from our blog readers whom been interested in knowing how to get a blog design like ours, and while I most often recommend them to use the templates there are to be found within the Blogger platform, I've now figured I could make a small business out of helping you out. The image above is one of the latest little things I've made. Holli asked me to design a logo and a blog template suitable for her and her husbands new sailing and live-aboard adventures. Holli wrote a very captivating blog about her life in Ghana for many years, will now be fun to see how they'll adapt from land life onto a life on water. Click here to follow their new cruising life and to see the blog design that I've cusom made after Holli's requirements.

If any of you others are interested in getting some help with your blogs design, send me an email and I'll see if I have time to help you out. For a standard blog and/or a blogs logotype I usually charge between $100-200 USD depending on the amount of help required. New from now is that you will get a link to your blog/site from our blog as soon as the design is done so that I can promote my little design business. As we got around 120.000 unique visitors monthly, it could be a good way for you to gain a new following as well. Great win win for us all, don't you think. If you have any blog inquiries or other smaller web/design related things you might need help with, email me here for prices and information.

morning training

Amongst spinnaker poles, turqoise water and a slowly rising sun I keep my abs in shape. Can tell you it's a well needed form of exercise after these past weeks of gluttony........ Click here for previous training related posts.

french west indian treats

We're so predictable it's silly. accras de morue (fried cod) are always being ordered when arriving to Guadeloupe. As well as boudin antillais (blood sausage) of course. Not to mention how we attack the shelves of the grocery stores where yoghurt, cheese, wine, meat, bread and patés are the golden treasures.

sunday night

greetings from Guadeloupe.

flawless

We had an amazing day of sailing around the NW coast of Antigua with Caos and her new owner, the other day. As the boat is being completely empty and because she had recently got some hull treatment - she sailed better than ever before. I think it was the first time that we could really enjoy and appreciate those new beautiful North Sails sails for real. 20 knots of wind was blowing from the NE and Caos pushed right through the water like a pro. We even beat that Hinckley 40' which seemed to be in a race mood. Too bad for them, Caos was the clear winner of the day. Thanks Michael for a great week, looking very much forward to sail with you and Caos again in a few months.

bonito

We had time to visit a fantastic restaurant in St Barts the other night. Bonito is one of our top five dining favorites in the Caribbean. Elegant yet cozy atmosphere, great food with the best selection of ceviche to be found in the West Indies, attentive service and occasionally interesting live musicians visiting. This is the type of place one has to get dragged out from as you're too comfortable to leave. I love bars and restaurants where they've managed to create a feeling of that you're invited into someone's living room.

the best sailing vacation/how will you spend your summer?

You remember Seven Sails that I told you about a couple of months ago? The super cool charter company that brings you out to explore this beautiful world. For a week or two you can live the way we do, with our without sailing experience doesn't matter. You just join the ride with some other cool people or charter your own boat with your friends and enjoy beautiful scenery, different cultures and the life at sea. Seven Sails organize trips to the Caribbean, Turkey, Greece and their newest destination: Seychelles. If you wanna join the adventure, they've given us a discount code that all of our readers can use on their next booking. Add this one when you send your inquiry and you will get 10% off the price. If we wouldn't have had our own boat, this is a trip I would have loved to join. Can you imagine, a week with your best friends, sailing around the beautiful Seychelles? Or why not around the stunning Greek islands? Seriously! Check the video to understand.

Voucher code: MyWorldTourStory12 Code valid until June 15th 2012 and it gives you 10% on any yacht bookings. Only 1 voucher per booking and cannot be accumulated with any other discounts or promotions. Discount does not apply for extras, such as transfers or skipper. All of Seven Sails current offers include full yacht insurance however (ie. liability for damages is capped at 500 EUR).

weekend planning

Preparing the boat for new adventures. We've been kinda locked in one place for too long time so all we can think of right now is to go, go, go.. seems like the pieces in the puzzle are slowly coming together so we will soon be out of here for real. For now only weekend trips back and forth, but in a few weeks we'll set sail towards...... will tell you all about it a bit later. All I can say right now is I CAN'T WAIT.

fruity

You might wonder where my bikini came from in this post. It's a Diane von Furstenberg and was sent to me by the Beach Fashion Shop. I love it. Usually wearing much one colored pieces so this one gives a breath of fresh air to my steady growing collection. My wardrobe is so light these days. Hundreds of bikinis comes nowhere close to the weight of hundreds of high heels. That's great, so Alex can fill the boat with more... tools?

good morning

Breakfast in St Barts tasted better than what I remembered. French people know what they're doing when it comes to food, coffee, bread and all that. Good for us as we will be going to another French island in just a few days.. glad to be back out sailing. It seems like we're slowly getting back out on the seas again.

home

We're back in Antigua. Staying for a few days then we're off to Guadeloupe with Duende. Looking forward to it.

Go and have a look at what one of our favorite sites has to say about us this week. Thanks Audrey for featuring us! You can find the article here.

weekend sailing

We have spent our weekend on Caos with her new owner Michael. Sailed from St Maarten to St Barts and will leave from here to Antigua tonight. Good weather, great company and nice stops along the way. After a new bottom paint, a fresh new stainless steel stove and some other smaller improvements this boat looks better than ever before. She's now going to get her teak deck done in Antigua before she will be delivered home to her new owner. If everything goes as planned, we all will be sailing Caos to Boston, New England later this summer. Was a while ago we were in those areas but will be fun to visit Boston, New York, Newport, Maine and all that. I think many of our readers live around there?

sunday chill

lazy in the sun. that's our position too today.
