380 nautical miles and 48 hours later

Hello Charleston!

We've been sailing approximately 2000 nautical miles like some crazy people in the past six weeks or so so I think we'll stay here for a while to recharge our physical batteries. Of course we went through two more nights of intense thunder storms, escaping hyperactive cumulonimbus like never ever before. Thank you universe for keeping us alive for a little while longer! Wonder what you all were up to when we got thrown around the sea, dodging violent lightning and torrential downpours, four-five hours at a time, both nights. Anyways, now we're safe on land and are looking much forward to explore this seemingly cultural and culinary interesting city. Send us tips if you've got some!

Two great bars, The Gin Joint - wonderful drinks and Speakeasy - a prohibition bar on East Bay with no sign. Ask for directions it's fun.

Radeen said...: Stay at the MARITIME CENTER, better location, east side of town where all the action is. Then find CAVIAR and BANANAS deli near the college. NYC type coffee shop and deli. A must go. Do a photo shoot on East Bay Street at night, or anytime. Visit Harris Teeter Grocery Store, wonderful. Enjoy Charleston, its a great town!

I hope you guys enjoy your stay in Charleston. Definitely try the shrimp and grits and take a ghost tour around the city at night by horse drawn carriage

Anonymous said...: Welcome to Charleston, Avoid Hyman's, a terrible tourist trap, no locals ever eat there. Try the local food trucks, cheaper and tasty. Walk the battery, take the water taxi over to Shem creek and get fish/shrimp/clams from the local fishermen. There's a Whole foods not far away.

Also got a few cool places to anchor out, Beresford creek in the wando or out by morris island. Watch the tides how ever.; July 16, 2013 at 1:33 PM
