More from Mustique

Just a few more images from our lovely four days holiday on Mustique a couple weeks ago. It's such a small island that we easily hiked around it in four hours and could explore every corner and every hidden little beach. Feels very good to have squeezed out the last good drops of the Caribbean before our departure towards new adventures on another continent. Soon, very soon. I hope you are as excited as we are for a change!

With Hilfiger in Mustique

Check in with Tommy Hilfiger to see our new photos from Mustique...here.
I Will show you some additional photos from those days shortly.

Fishermen in Mustique

Under the big almond trees they prepared their nets and lines for the following morning out at sea.

Firefly

There's only three bars and restaurants on the private island of Mustique. One was Basil's beach bar, the second is Cotton House which you saw some photos from over here, and the last one: Firefly. This particular place is a hotel with four rooms only and it sits on a hilltop overlooking the beautiful bay below. If you ever go, don't forget to ask for the absolutely mean, roasted salted coconut shavings. Must recreate the delicious things asap.

More pics from Mustique will be up on Tommy Hilfiger's facebook page in just a few days...

Four very ripe bananas please

Great selection of fruits and vegetables in Stanley's market in Brittania Bay. I'm planning on making another delicious moist and creamy banana/cinnamon cake today, that'll be the third in a week but we can't get enough of it. Will share the recipe with you a bit later.

Another drink at Basil's

A nice hangout in Brittany Bay, great view of your boat and the sunset at night.

Another day, another beach

The lagoon in the South Western part of Mustique is a picture perfect beach where you can easily lose yourself for hours. The hot, shallow water, fine white sand and the beautiful natural surroundings got us thinking of the South Pacific. Not that we've been there as yet but this is sort of how we imagine it to look and feel like and we're getting closer to it each day... a few months left only.

Another level

It's hard not to fall in love with this place. The most well maintained and in a way, most organized island in the West Indies that we have come across thus far. Just as in St Barts, roads and gardens are kept clean and groomed, but Mustique is even one step more, what's the word, tidy. At some parts it doesn't even remind of another Caribbean island at all. The vast parks and gardens with the well cut grass fields are more reminiscent of what you find in European or American residential areas, and every detail is refreshingly well thought out. An interesting change from the typical of what the other islands offer and we totally understand why this is the favorite sanctuary of the ones who look for impeccable style and discreet serenity. Also the level of service and politeness is in general way higher than anywhere we've visited before in this region, I suppose it is also one of the requirements for getting to work on this private island altogether.

Greetings from the beach

I blame the radio silence on the beauty of this stunning, pristine island. Give us one more day or two and we should be back with you online. We hope your December started out as beautiful as ours.
