Sorry to say this to you but Barbados really SUCKS! Its like being in Greece, Turkey, Mallorca or any other place with like 1 biljon tourists. Water is nothing special och the food aint good. My advice is to skipp Barbados and move on to the good parts of the Carribean.
Don't miss taking a tour of the Harrison Caves complex. You'll love them.
It's been 12 years since we sailed into Carisle Bay on Barbados , just anchor, relax and enjoy - Bethsheba on the east coast is worth a visit by bus
Dinner in Lone Star restaurant in St James pretty amazing. Ask for a table by the beach. Quite expensive but very lovely.
The Cliff restaurant is also out of this world. A great place to go for a cocktail. You could anchor off the cliff I should imagine, if you have a dinghy to get ashore.
I am agree Barbade is not that great but you have to stop to re stock !
Get the Old Rhum from Mont Gay...
But why Martinique ??? nothing is worth than the Dom Tom !
The best rhum from me is the one from Marie Galante, the old one from Bielle is too dye for !
Saint Lucie is good fun
I saw that you are surfing, it s the perfect time of the year to go to Tortloa ( cane gaden bay ) great wave, not crowded, very easy, great spot to anchore too ! close by there is Virgin Gorda ( no surf but very nice)
Don t miss the rasta market in Bequia ( Houat avec des rastas !)

Hoppas att det är okey att jag skriver på svenska.
För ett år sedan kom vi till Barbados som första angöring efter vår atlantöverfart. Vi hade hört några varningar för inklareringshamnen och ropade upp myndigheterna som sa att vi måste lägga till vid kajen direkt vid ankomsten till ön. Tyvärr gjorde vi som de sa och på köpet krossade vi en solpanel och fick en rejäl buckla i båtens sida när strömmen under kajen tryckte båten handlöst fram och tillbaka. Utan färdig inklarering fick vi lämna hamnen, ankra upp ute i viken och gå till myndigheterna landvägen. Alla vi talat med som har varit där har haft liknande upplevelser, så vårt råd till er är att ankra upp i viken, ta pappren och knalla iväg till hamnen och låtsas som att ni trodde att det är det rätta sättet. Eller i alla fall inte göra mer än ett halvhjärtat försök med tilläggning.
För övrigt hade vi en fantastisk tid på Barbados. Folk är så vänliga, stan är mysig och landet vackert. Detta gäller faktiskt enligt vår erfarenhet på olika vis alla öar och platser. Med ett öppet sinne och intresse tar man till sig olika kulturer, det är väl meningen med att resa? Så lyssna inte för mycket till de som avfärdar en ö, kanske hade de otur eller en negativ inställning.

St.Barts is most beautiful, be prepared to spend $20 on a fresh salad. BVI's great fun(Jost van Dyke for diamond cay/Soggy Dollar/Foxxy's and Virgin Gorda for Baths, cane garden bay) busy this time of year, though.
