Well, actually there are a lot of "guy" blogs around about cruising. It is refreshing to get another take on it. I suspect that there would be a lot more ladies interested in sailing and cruising if they read more of your take on things. We guys tend to focus on stuff that makes the ladies shy away from it.

Ooops why so sensitive mr? Are you saying that an international bankers time is more precious than ours/Alex's? Explain yourself so we can take part of your intelligent thoughts. And you must have read very quickly because you seem to have missed the information that Alex in fact will be writing in this blog once or twice per month. Or is that too little for you perhaps? If you were hoping for more then I'm very sorry that we have to disappont you like this.

Love the blog, but Alex, I think a lot would like to see a bit more of you discussing thoughts, issues, maintenance items, technical challenges.

Let Taru continue the philosophical discussions (which are refreshing also), but can we suggest once a week you post.

And for the goofs, I suspect you have been following the blog for some time. I have no idea why you are so judgmental, unless your suffering from jealousy.

Taru, when you say that you want this blog to be "my work", what is it that you actually consider your work? You say that it's not a cruising/sailing blog, but 95% of your content is related to sailing; so it's natural for everyone to expect that you have a sailing blog where you occasionally discuss non-sailing topic. Even the title and URL of your blog specifically says (to me) that it's a sailing blog.

If you notice the number of comments (at the time I'm writing this), Alex received 31 on his post. Of all the posts going back to April only one other post has received as many comments as his; most of the rest have between 2-10 posts. That right there show the amount of interest in what he has to say from a technical standpoint.

A while back I asked for a video walk-through of your boat, is there any chance of getting that made? It doesn't seem like that would be a big deal to create; and I think it would appease some of your visitors who are asking for more info on the boat.

So sorry Artheon, no time nor space for those kind of video things but thanks for your interest.

This is a new type of travel/photography/sailing/lifestyle - blog, sure there are sailing and thoughts about cruising involved in it, just as much as there are thoughts about cultures, travel, drinks, food, music, love and so on, but it is definitely not a typical sailing/cruising blog and never had the intention to be.

As you can read, Alex will post every once in while, that should be enough for you I think? Once or twice per month is as far as he can go and that's also the maximum a blog like this can take. If you want more than that, then there are other blogs for you, like we're saying in this post.

We cannot turn this website to a pure technical sailing blog, then we would never have this amount of readers (most of them being non-sailors), and we would never be able to make money on this blog and projects around it. I'm sure you understand. Alex has also, like he earlier mentioned, "other things to do than write" - he simply ain't that interested in writing, like you maybe are in reading technical articles.

Google around a bit and I'm sure you will find websites that will be able to feed your need for technical perspectives of living aboard and sailing around the world, if that is what you are looking for. Here you will get much more than that and we intend to keep it like that.

I'm not particularly interested in an all-technical perspective from your blog, you are right that I can find that elsewhere and I have already. I've been reading your blog for the last number of months specifically because it contained all the different things you encounter in your travels; however you seem to discount the way you are getting there and what you go through while you do.

I think you'd be suprised at how many people are interested in the technical side of sailing... those are the people who will be clicking on the links on the right side of your blog and buying gear. A non-sailor won't be interested in buying marine stoves, water makers, sails, etc.

I'm cool with not getting the video I asked for, I figured that Alex wouldn't be interested in talking about his boat for the fans and I understand you want to do what you want to do with your blog. Have fun with it and keep up the good work. :)

If you would ever have the chance to meet Alex in person, you would instantly understand that he is not a person who enjoys "writing". He simply are one of those few who doesn't hang online and share their life with others.

For this specific reason I had to take on that writing part already from the early stage of this blog. I lost counting on how many times I tried to get him into it, but it doesn't work, he doesn't have that kind of interest and like I said, I cannot force the man to do things he doesn't enjoy. But all good anyway, since I love running this blog the way I do it.

We are all shaped differently with different interests in life.

Maybe we will have some more time over for producing interesting videos when we have changed boat.
