Off we go
Adios for now! /T&A
(And no, we're not sponsored by Helly Hansen, although that would have been very nice)
Hey! I have that same DAN buoy! It looks brand new. Did you put it in the water and check if it floats ;-)
Are you guys gonna double-hand the Atlantic crossing? We did it with a crew of four last year and it was exhausting(18 day crossing). Not that it can't be done though. S/V Tenaya (www.tenayatravels.com) did it the year before on their HR40 with a husband and wife team.
The ARC rally is leaving from the Canaries on November 21st if you want some safety in numbers. I was amazed how many sailors were in Gran Canaria last year looking for a ride over with ARC boats.
Cheers, Hank

Looks cold out there. I have a question regarding the HR 532 and the 2 small holes aft of the Boat. (Akterspegeln? What are those holes for?
Sailfurther: We will be crossing by ourselves. We have our Sailomat windvane to help us through the longer passages.
Adam: I think you mean the holes for the old ladder (badstege) that was mounted there before.
Taru, the holes are quite far away from each other and just below the blue wide line. I have seen it on several 532 now. I think its to wide for (badstege).
If you mean these two holes:

The ones below the wide blue line, they are there from the old ladder - and now they are covered as we have another ladder, going out directly from the bathing platform. There are no other holes made at the stern of this boat.
Okay, I see that you do not have thet particular holes that I think about. Have to figure it out when I meet the agent on Sunday. Thanks for your effort anyway ;-)
Yup. An autopilot makes all the difference... mine failed on day eight and we hand steered the rest of the way... fair winds!
