How exciting...I used to live in Tanzania and would love to see Morocco...Africa is truly a breathtaking continent. Congrats on a nice ride! xo
Wow, Windtraveler and The World Tour in once place, lucky me! Taru, I'm curious as to the cost of the marinas in Rabat? Hope you both have a great time there!
We circumnavigated from 1998-2002 and I think Morocco was probably my *very* favourite country (of 37)... the wood-work and pottery are outstanding, et tous le monde parlent francais so us Canadians could communicate a little with the locals (which always makes a nice difference!). Enjoy your time and keep posting your lovely pictures -- they warm our cold Canadian hearts!!!
it's 29 degrees here too! Fahrenheit though... :)
Windtraveler: I would love to go to Tanzania one day. The nature and wild life there seems absolutely breathtaking. We're thinking of skipping the Canaries to stay around on the west African coast for a bit longer before the Atlantic crossing, just need to find out how it is with the security around these areas nowadays. Would love to go to Senegal which is some 1000 nm from here.
Ford: The price for our boat size (9.99-10.99 feet) is 108 dirhams now in off season. That's around 9.50 Euros or 12.80 USD. Water, electricity, wifi and taxes included. Very very cheap. It is an excellent marina with great service, fresh facilities, good security and over all very welcoming and nice. The price is double in the summer season (June-September). Still extraordinary cheap for what you get.
Leah: It is indeed a great hep if you speak French in these countries. Glad that Alex does!
Anonymous: 29 fahrenheit? That's below 0C° !!! brrrrrr
