Preparing for the Atlantic passage
And that was today's lunch.
Put together a zeer pot and try it out (shouldn't cost more than a dollar there, 2 clay pots and some sand. Don't recall every reading a boater trying it out, can't see why it wouldn't work (help) out there. Lots of simple instructions how to make and use out there:

Also suggest to give the satellite interenet a thorough workout before departing, in case something fails out there, we'll all be distraught if we get no updates for a whole 3 weeks. I imagine you have something linked up via phone directly to twitter or facebook in case actual internet to this blog does fail? Just to keep in touch.
The excitement must be building. While taking snaps of the food storage how about some technical (less arty [i.e. close-ups]) pics of the boat itself (engine, full pic windvane, electronics, mast etc. etc. big overal pics of the systems and boat itself, for reference and interest to those into such things.
What are you feelings at the moment, excitement, anxiety, sadness, other?
Just remember don't leave on a Friday, (old maritime superstition ).
Did you watch the movie the reef? Donth watch it now, keep it for when youre in the middle of the ocean on the boat! The movie is great and you will love it.
Safe and happy sailing when you depart for the Caribbean. Will be thinking of you.
Good luck for your crossing, I am so excited for you both and look forward to hearing about the adventure on the way over!
Love the blog guys!
