You can do it. Look how far you've already come. Congratulations.
Looks a lovely boat. Please can you persuade Alex to post a short description of her, or please will you tell us.
Thanks
Mike
Simply beautiful. . .wonderful lines, classic deck and what we can see of the interior wood work is lovely. Congrats again.
So, how did the boat just down from you get a small plane stuck in the rigging? ;)
Hi. The Duende looks very sleek with a low hull compared to the vessel to her starboard on the hard standing, although they are probably much different designs. You refer to her as "this old lady" and "classic yatch" so I'm guessing it's the fulfilment of a wish to buy an older vessel and undertake some restoration work perhaps? It may seem daunting work and a short timescale but you'll do it in the same way you readied the Caos for your journey this far. Talking of which you must also be feeling a little sad at saying "Goodbye" to her after all this time? We become more attached to vessels than to people sometimes! I recently saw a photo of a wooden motor launch I used to mess around in as a kid and was overjoyed to see she is still in good shape being used as a Pilot Cutter. It was just like seeing an childhood friend (I'm 56 now!)
Looks fantastic. Looking forward to hearing about work planned for her over the next few months and how she compares to the old boat.
Nooo, I was planning on naming my (currently being built) boat "Duende", thought it was pretty unique. Are you going to keep the name? :)
wow!!! nice boat!
Quit worrying Oscar. There are lots of boats out there called "Duende". Common Spanish boat name.
Nice Boat. I envy you so much right now. =)
Really is such a beautiful boat! Can't wait to see the progress.
Hej Alex / Taru
The boat looks like a S&S design or something similar ... A wonderfull yacht. I know classic lines since I have been sailing a classic wooden dragon for 16 years :-)
Also as a former design engineer at the Najad boatyard (2008) I must recomend you to add a safety bracket/jumper (what´s the correct word?) in front of the stowe/owen. This you can grab and hang towels on to dry, but it also prevent you to get burned on the stowe if you fall against it. I´m shure you have one in your HR 352!
