Leaks
And here's our yacht from a distance, beautiful when you don't get to see the flaws from up close...
Aren't leaks fun? I'm in the middle of this job right now, re-bedding all the deck hardware. Just pray you don't find any wet deck core, then the shit really hits the fan..yea!
It'll be worth it though, sick boat by the way.
Aggravating I’ll bet …... beautiful sailboat though.... very nice lines....
Beauty is allways worth the trouble. Duende is a lovely boat, and a bit of TLC will fix the issues.
Keep on going, cheers,
Peter

Hey guys, It looks to me like you have a leak in your electrical system. All the rust on all the fittings signals this problem and suggests your boat is charged. You may be picking it up from the surrounding marina/boats or your own electrics system. You should check your electrics and invest in a sacraficial anode to hang in the water whilst attached to say your lifelines this will earth the yacht. You probably know this though but I just thought I'd say incase you didnt yet. You can do a google search to learn more about this complex problem
PS Love your blog
I wouldn't call that condition extreme. Holes in the deckhouse, hull, etc, that would be extreme. ;)
Could be current leakage as Chris suggests, but in US it is common to find fittings that are chromed 304 stainless, not 316 that is mostly used in Europe (lots of fresh water locations in US that don't need 316). 304 rusts beautifully at the edge of the plating in seawater, so check the grade of the fittings and bin any 304 stuff. Ah, the joys of old boat ownership!!
ah yes, Leaks. We have a few ourselves in our 74' Westsail. We are actually going to start rebedding all of the deck hardware starting next weekend.
Luckily the leaks don't get onto anything fabric, just Behind cabinets.
Goodluck with it!
Dani
Here is an excellent tutorial on rebedding hardware, including a good explanation of why it fails:

Be careful which Butyl tape you use in the tropics if you go this route, cheaper ones will be too soft in the heat.
