Has something changed with your camera in the last while? New lens, or new editing software? The photos are coming out terrible, washed out or too much contrast. Not the rich vibrant colours as before. I just copied a pic of that dreadlock dude into an editor and hit auto adjust, totally brings back the color. Maybe you have a setting off somewhere in the camera or your software?
I can't believe how critical people can be on here...honestly, complaining about your English, now your photos, your self-promotion, your "commercialism"...look peeps....if you don't like the blog - READ SOMETHING ELSE!
I love your photos, PLEASE don't get better English, because its one of the things I love MOST about this blog - its pure honesty of who you are - which is beautiful and shows CHARACTER and that we're not all the same. The photos don't always have to be with the most saturated color...seriously...people are bugging me!!! Your blog is perfect AS is. Please don't listen to this crap.
Tiff: I won't even care to bother whatever people think about any of that. I have much nicer and more beautiful things to spend my precious time and energy on. There will always be people who rather care about what other people do/don't instead of living their own lives fully. Glad I'm not one of those.
and you're not either Tiffany, so cheers to us.
P.S: I do want to perfect my English though.. unfortunately I don't have the time it requires to dig into it for real but I do appreciate when people point out my language defaults so I can get better. One of my dreams are in fact to speak and write perfect English, maybe one day when I get old and have more time on my hands.
i like the editing on the photos too! i enjoy a softer, less contrasted feel in photos. so just ignore old anon, taru :)
Your english is way better than most of the people here in the states. With that said, Dread lock man is awesome! Keep sending these virtual post cards to us from paradise :)

...and here I was going to ask HOW you get that "washed out"/"vintage" look to the photos. It's a processing technique I've always wanted to figure out.
gosh people are being ridiculous! I like the vintage look of your pictures and I am happy to hear that you dont really care about comments like this!! :) why should you?
The exposure on these reminds me of how the world looks when you first open your eyes after sleeping in bright sun --- pale, blue-ish, and a bit bewildering.
maybe some readers forget they are YOUR photos and it is YOUR blog. If they dont like it, they can kick rocks! :)
As always, beautiful photos...I wish I was there!
hey,,really like Megans desription of your photos,,the only thing wrong that i see is that i'm not splashing around in the backgroud of the beach scenes !!,,anyway,,dreaming is good for the soul.cheers 'different drum'
Love your site! My husband and I are in our mid-40's and working on selling our house this year to take off on our Catalina 30 next year. While we wish we started when we were your age, we're glad we're finally working on it. Could you believe we never even thought or heard of such a thing as cruising just 3 years ago? If only we'd known sooner .. LOL!
We can't wait to experience Antigua ... it looks absolutely stunning!
Happy Birthday Taru! First, your blog is fantastic. Second, your English is VERY good. (There are many in the USA that do not write as well as you do!) Third, I really enjoy your photography. The compositions are always interesting. I have a question today, though: I will be visiting Antigua soon, so I want to know: where is this beach with the Rasta Man? It's a beautiful location....I would like to go there during my visit.
Blog on, Taru and Alex!! I don't have a Google Acct, AIM, or the others.....so you can sign me as: Randonc
