I doubt, too small. Passionfruit's are way larger here and most of the times yellow.

Hmm.. I'd say they could be fruits that in Colombia are called "lulo". Some kind of sour apple etc in English. Try the juice, it's amazing! XX from Mexico
We call them hog plums in Trinidad...
Good with salt, lime, hot pepper and shadow beni (culantro) when green and sweet when ripe.
Now I want to go to the store and get some fruit haha!
As Jade mentioned, we call them hog plums. In Venezuela they are called jobo, better known as spondias:

Have you tasted them? what do they taste like?
In Puerto Rico we call them jobos, tart, very fibrous, we eat them just as they are. You'll have to suck them to get the juice out but tasty.
