reality check

Hi Taru
There are a few things that intrigue me somewhat. It is clear that you and Alex have been moving inexorably back in to the "rat race" from your life as wandering sailors. Remember all those comments from people saying how much they envied your free and easy life on the boat? But do you think that you have now adopted their lives to some degree? How does the "rat race" compare to the boat life you had before? Will you go back to sea leaving it all behind again? And if you do, how about doing a piece in your great writing style on how the two lives compare, and if it's possible to live both of them together.
All the best
Davey
I know how it feels, just post when you feel like it :) love your writing and photos though, its a big inspiration! kram, maja.
Great post! Thanks for sharing. Really very useful and informative post. I like it. I love your writing and photos though, its a big inspiration!
Glad you've come around to the only healthy attitude possible in the long term.
I realise the irony of sharing/commenting on such via a blog...
It has been a pleasure reading your blog. Go enjoy your life offline!
For me it wasn't even the sharing. I got to a point where my passion for photography - especially of my kids - had me evaluating an outing on how well I had documented it, not on the actual outing.
And I came to realize that I was missing out on sharing these amazing events with my kids because I spent so much time off to the side trying to get a great shot of them taking part.
I was depriving myself and them of living in those moments and simply enjoying life together.
I haven't taken my SLR on a familly outing in three years now, and I've lived a better life for it.
Look us up when In Block Island RI this July. It would be interesting to meet you both. www.IslandSpirit.us
