AMEN sister! xo
Taru, get a little bit older and let's discuss this in 10 or 15 years when you got some life experience. cu
What are you running away from?
Fear and falling is also mentioned on this inspirational video about parkour - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRSOe-rDa9Y
OK Taru really fear disrupts life, I even stopped to realize my dreams, and today I have 50 years, and I am complaining about have failed to do .....

Exactly the words I need to read today! :) Very well written! XO
Nice photo - but are you not holding on to what you consider the way of life you want? Why judging? Holding on to a lifestyle might just mean that it is the right one... to repeat another comment: "...get a little bit older and let's discuss this in 10 or 15 years when you got some life experience"
Loving your post dear!!!! Im with you on this one!!I personally know people who are afraid to take risks.Such a waste !!
Oh "Joe", I feel so sorry for you that you have to try to bring people down when you feel hurt. I can understand through your comments that you take this post and my words personally. Did I step on your toes? That leads me to think that you are one of those that I speak about, someone who could do so much more of your own life than just holding on to what is safe and comfortable. Might be you are married or in a relationship. Probably with someone you love but not in love with. Perhaps you have one kid or more. You are also probably busy making a decent living, you have some loans on the bank and in the midst of all these obligations, you have forgotten what your soul really needs. All the childish yet wonderful dreams that you once had are long gone in the back of your mind, because how could you make reality of them now, when you have so much you "have to do".
There are no expiration date on beginning to discover yourself. I know of people who are around 20 who have already started their progress because they are hungry for more and for them the "normality" isn't enough, and I know of people in their 50s who just recently acknowledged the fact that there is more to life than just what is visible with bare eyes.
There are free-spirited human beings in all ages, and needless to say, I have always made better friends with the ones who dare to live by their heart, than with the ones who doesn't. Good luck in life, it seems like you'll need it.

It is remarkable how people choose to read into things in such different ways. Beautiful post and very refreshing to get reminded of.
I doubt Taru was judging anyones lifestyle with this post as anonymous puts it in comment #7, she was just concerned for the people who stay put because of fear. I too have been bothered and frustrated for the ones around me who haven't followed their heart because of fear and worries, but I have slowly but surely understood that some of us on this earth needs the comfort provided and they wouldn't be able to live without it.
Continue to inspire Taru and Alex. You two are a breath of fresh air in this world.
bravo
"I’ve always wanted to sail the South Seas, but I can’t afford it."
What these people can’t afford is not to go. They are enmeshed in the demands of security. And in the worship of security we fling our lives beneath the wheels of routine and before we know it, our lives are gone.
What does a person need, really need? A few pounds of food each day, heat and shelter, six feet to lie down in and some form of working activity that will yield a sense of accomplishment.
That’s all, in the material sense. And we know it. But we are brainwashed by our economic system until we end up entombed by a mountain of time payments, mortgages, preposterous gadgetry, playthings that divert our attention from the sheer idiocy of the charade.
The years thunder by, and the dreams of youth grow dim while they lie caked in dust on the shelves of patience. Before we sense it, the tomb is sealed.
Where then lies the answer. In choice. Which shall it be; bankruptcy of purse, or bankruptcy of life?
- Sterling Hayden
So many true and important questions. I imagine them too often and notice that I'm afraid. I see what life brings, and hope to very, very much courage
I agree with your statement! Sometimes we get wrappedd up in life itself and we forget to live our dreams. It is not because of fear that we don't follow dreams it's because we choose to follow other paths in life or our dreams changed as we grow old. I spent 26 years in the Army and it was not the fear of dying but the fear of not seeing my children grow up that I feared the most! Dreams do change for some and others like myself are now ready to cast off and see where they end up! There's a world out there that needs to be explored! Some day we might share an anchorage or maybe a story or two. Until then I enjoy reading your Blog Take Care & Keep Writing!!!!
This text just hitted me straight to the heart. Lovely words and really wise thinking. Thnx x100!
Taru, what a beautiful post. What is life without risks? Fear is paralyzing and keeps people from living life to the fullest.
Не плохо.
Respect!
What a beautifull post by an outstanding mind. You sure are a dancer. Enjoy!
Things will look a little different once kids are around. Other then that, even those "10 or 15 years later" mentioned in some posts don't make a difference :-))
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty-handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances but they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth making
Don't let some hell-bent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance....
