Scott is getting a kite surfing kit when we go back home...supposed to be super athletic and a total rush!!
If you know how to handle boards kite surfing comes easy. Best thing is to find somebody that can show wou the basics of kite setup and handling for a couple of hours and you'll be off!
i hear kite surfing is hard... but then again I have never tried. good luck.
love your pictures on your blog.

I love to watch the kite surfers. They can be found on area lakes around here.
I predict you and Alex will love kiteboarding. A few lessons for safety and basic concepts is highly recommended at first. It seems ideal for cruising as the kite and rig packs up into a backpack size bundle for storage - no lashing big boards or kayaks to the deck.
I'm just learning it myself and constantly hope for good wind conditions on my days off. It's great fun even for a beginner getting body dragged through the water most of the time. Kite control and staying up on the board take some practice - like any skill.
Thanks for the inspiring blog.
Good idea. You'll love kitesurfing. Avid sailor myself, I took on kitesurfing a few years ago. Equipment fits easily in a "golf bag", so you can bring it along on flights to the Carribean and on any charter boat. But please beware: lots of injuries when launching or landing. A few lessons are a must, at least for safety purposes... And you can even do it on snow when you go back North (if ever...).
