Back up again
My foot is finally better. I hope that means I can start wearing heels again? Except for a few pairs of Havaianas, these are the first pair of shoes I've purchased in the Caribbean during these past 20 months. Espadrillos are the perfect high heeled shoes for island life. I've occasionally used stilettos too but there always seem to be something, a rock, quay or lines that manages to fuck the heels up so I stick to the firm cork platforms no doubt. Last pair of those, which just broke btw, were bought in Morocco around two years ago so I'd say I've become rather economical when it comes to footwear, compared to how I lived on land. Very impressed by my new self and the positive development I've gone through. Click here to see which heels I left on this circumnavigation with, more than half are now gone of course as what would I do with them here on the seas.
These new ones are from the only Aldo store in the Caribbean, in Fort de France, Martinique. Shopping in general isn't the first that comes to mind when you think of the West Indies although St Barts has some amazing shops and there's a new mall with some great stores being opened in St Maarten as we speak.
