I agree! I'll try just about anything once... most interesting foods for me were Escargot (LOVE!), Beef Testicles (which were cooked in a Vietnamese soup) and Head Cheese, which is a jellied meat dish made from the head of a pig or calf. None of them tasted bad, and were in fact much better than I ever would have expected. However, aside from the escargot, you'll never hear me utter the words, "Boy, I'm craving some head cheese right now!"
well the next time that you do get a shark on your hook accidently or not, i really hope you will throw it back in considering 1/3 of the worlds shark species are in danger of extinction. We should all do our best to mind about the few once left.
If you sail all the way down to Argentina, try Parrilla !
They cook different part of beef... many unknown in Europe... even in France !
we eat chicken gizzard all the time here in Andhra Pradesh, India. It's made with onions and curry leaves and fried in lots of spices.yummy
Melody: Escargots is something of the best in the world if prepared correctly. Also something I got to eat more often since I met Alex who's obsessed with them. I have yet to try beef testicles and head cheese :/
Milo: I'd like to see you catching and releasing a shark without getting injured?
PR: I love Argentinian meet and cuisine in general so I'm sure that'd be amazing too.
Nonsensegirl: So chicken gizzard must then taste pretty similarly I assume. But you got your with a nice Indian twist.
I've never eaten duck gizzard but chicken gizzard is also chewy and slightly rubbery, a bit tough but with all the indian spices and fried onions you get past the texture. I still can't eat liver tho, it's the texture that bothers me. But my husband LOVEs eating liver.
