Glad you're enjoying Charleston, there is so much beauty everywhere you look there. We actually visited that cigar and wine shop too!, and possibly the brewery. I can't be sure though, we were all a little intoxicated at that point.
Is your next stop Manhattan? We stayed at the 79 St. Boat Basin there, which has less than desirable facilities, but is in the perfect location, only about two blocks from Central Park West.
I can't wait to read about the rest of your U.S. adventures. The great posts, beautiful photos, and, reliving a lot of amazing memories of our time on the water there.
The baked brie with tomato chutney looks amazing! So nice to see vegetables looking as beautiful as they taste. Hope you're both enjoying your extra 2 hours of daylight!

I love this post. I've been to that yummy candy shop several times, and I can't say that I am able to leave empty handed.
Glad to hear that you tried the shrimp and grits. The taste of this dish can vary wildly based on the restaurant. I grew up eating biscuits and grits, and I miss them terribly. You don't find them in New York or New Jersey (which is probably a good thing for my waistline).
What marina are you staying at in Chalreston?
Polenta versus grits: http://www.thekitchn.com/polenta-versus-grits-whats-the-difference-187807
"Southern grits and Italian polenta are traditionally made from two vastly different types of corn. How many times it's milled and the fineness of the grind also differ. And then there's the taste and texture."
(Honestly, they are essentially the same thing.)
This one is even better at actually comparing the two: http://www.cookthink.com/reference/4485/Whats_the_difference_between_polenta_and_grits
I'm so glad you got to visit the south! I've lived in southern USA my entire life and it's absolutely wonderful (we do not consider Miami "southern"). The people here have beautiful hearts, the food is amazing and the atmosphere is always laid-back, friendly and welcoming. I hope you're able to come back and visit other places!
Shrimp??? I thought you were a Vegan now!
The slide has begun and the massive quantities of good low cost food in the US will surely have it's toll on that beautiful bikini body I so enjoy...say it aint so!
Love that you were walking around the cobblestone streets with those shoes! You are so brave and an inspiration haha!!! Eeeek crickets? Nooooooo!
What happened to being a vegan?
Crickets? really? i don't know if i could eat that, not even going through my head that it could be eaten :S
