The game of life
I like how you talk about life as a game of chess, part luck, mostly strategy. I completely agree, and taking life less seriously is probably one of the most important "ingredient" to a happier life.
I try to look at my struggles and painful experiences as lessons, and in a way these sometimes make the happy moments even better.
After all, if you've never experience pain you will never know true happiness.
I would hate to live a life somewhere in a grey middle, where nothing is quite bad but never really good either.

Life is not like a game at all...it is far more important than that and should not be wasted trying to take part in a meaningless game. Sailing on the wide open seas far far from the game allows you to see just how wasteful everyone is with their preciously and very limited time.
I love the post. One formula I try to follow is to simply start with a desire followed by intention, allowing life to unfold, and surrender all judgments, while practicing humility.
Life is interesting...that's for sure. Some of us get born into spots with more options. I'm happy that I was. Allows for a greater variety of choices which seems to me to be a key part of what can offer a life that is fulfilling. The world is a lot different than what is readily revealed.
